As a Norwegian-American, I am very proud of my Scandinavian roots. I am passionate about strengthening cultural and commercial ties between the Scandinavian countries and the United States.

I am equally passionate about promoting Nordic Security.

Without America’s security guarantees – as outlined in NATO’s Article V – Norway, which I love, would likely never have prospered. This is my guiding principle for my enduring commitment to the promoting Nordic Security. 

The Nordic region, comprising Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland – along with the Baltic states, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania – represent an important geopolitical block at a time of climate change and global power competition. 

The Nordic countries are known for their rich and diverse cultures but are also linked through shared values. They are committed to collective security through the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
